I used to drive one of these....

Weighs in at @ 13 tonne with nothing in the bucket and the bucket could easily hold 2 tonne of soil. I used to put about 1 tonne of soil in the bucket (a nice little tare meter inside the cab helped get the correct weight) and put the bucket at 3 quarters its height endo's and stoppies were great.

If it was only that simple Its maths really, weight of the machine behind the front axle and weight of the machine in front of the front axle, including the bucket. When loaded the bucket is supposed to be lowered to keep the whole machine stable. Raise the bucket and your off balancing the machine. Keeping it in an endo position is down to driver skill, hit the brakes too hard and you'll be peeling yourself off the window screen.

Many have tried and many have failed. (It's an expensive accident to have when the Fiat Hitachi costs a quarter of a million pounds to buy.) BTW The Riot Police in China use a dark blue one as a battering ram.
